my driving licence does not have my current address on can i still sit my theory test? |
i have booked my theory test today for 10 days time i have both parts of my licence (card and paper) but they do not have my new address on am i still able to sit the test in 10 days with these or will i have to wait for one with my mew address on help asap would be great thank you
Answer (by george d):
Just fill in the 'change of address' box with your new address before you attend your theory test, then attend. take it, along with an envelope addressed to the DVLA ( address on rear of licence counterpart ) then post it off. Once you have done this it should take no more than 15 working days to receive the updated licence. It is an offence to have the wrong address on your licence ( up to £1000 fine )

I want to pass my driving license test for the first time in the uk i want to know how much the whole thing can cost me? and also i have a little baby and i dont have who can watch it for me can can i take her with me?
Answer (by EvelynThe ModifiedDog.):
Impossible to say but I doubt you'd do it for much less than £500 all in.
I doubt VERY much whether an instructor would let you take a kid on a driving lesson.

Can i take my driving test withan old counterpart licence? |
Hi, i have my practical UK test booked for tomorrow, ive had both parts of my license stashed away since my Theory test. However after looking at my paper counter part i have noticed that the serial numbers are different, as it is in fact an old one from a driving license i lost. It was fine to use for my theory test but i just want to know what will happen tomorrow. I know it says you are NOT allowed to take the test but i was wondering if nyone had experienced a similar situation, and what the result was. Thanks
Answer (by Timbo is here):
You have to have your licence which consists of both parts and you don't have this - sorry but they ain't gonna let you take it

what book or cds to use to study the theory test for driving licence? |
It will be helpful if some one can suggest to me the newest version. Thank you
Answer (by ALAN S):
Hi
The DSA recently published this information -
"From 23 January 2012 the theory test will be made up of multiple-choice questions which are no longer published in learning materials.
The reason behind the move is to stop candidates from simply memorising theory test questions and answers and learning by rote.
Revision materials still available
New official driving and riding theory books were published in September 2011 to help candidates prepare for the test and for life on the road.
The new books contain:
new sections of text for motorcyclists, a free e-book for car drivers and full references throughout to help candidates learn and revise
questions and answers for revision, including practice for case studies
the official DSA explanations for every revision question, helping candidates fully understand the answer
This approach to learning will help candidates to gain a better knowledge and understanding of driving theory which will help them respond correctly to the new, reworded live questions used in the actual test.
No changes to the format of the test
No changes are being made to the format of the theory test. It will still be made up of a multiple-choice part and a hazard perception part.
The time allowed and the pass marks will stay the same."

![]() | Where in Europe can you take a driving test obtain the license and exchange it for a full GB license? |
Hi, I have this question that I have been pondering over and have decided to put it out there to gather more Information. Basically my question is as follows. Is it possible to travel to another country in the EU (EG: Poland) from the UK, book and take (and pass) a practical driving test, obtain the license and upon returning to the UK send it to the DVLA in exchange for a full GB one? If so would this be cost effective? Is this even legal? Any responses would be gratefully received
Answer (by ANDY):
Hello
First of all like here in the U.K you would have to be a resident to apply for a Provisional licence.
If you have such an address (Family Holiday Home)? Then you could take your test in that country.
Main advantage is some have easier Driving Test and no Theory Test.
You would have to then be a U.K resident and over our Minimum age requirement. You could then surrender the Full EU one with your application and you would get a Full U.K one.
Without knowing which country so how much your licence, lessons and test would cost we can't advise on cheaper option but definitely legal.
