Driving License issue number, test tommorow?

Driving test tommorow, the two parts of my license a new photocard and my counterpart appear to have different issue numbers. Photocard is 21 and my counterpart is 21a, is this normal? Thanks

Answer (by sponge):
As long as both parts have YOUR name and address and your Signature on them, plus your categories entitlements you'll be fine.. good luck on the test :)

Should mobility scooter users be required to pass a scooter driving test and hold a scooter licence?

Something whereby they can be held responsible if they run over someone's foot, drive through a red light (as they are allowed on the road, limited to 8mph, but have none of the requirements that motorists have), or generally break the law while driving (4mph speed limit on pavements in the UK). At least a licence plate system so that they can be identified and fined if necessary. I also don't think it's right that they can ride on pavements but cyclists cannot, it's double standards. Wheel chairs (powered or not) are hardly the same thing as a mobility scooter, which are more like small cars than wheel chairs; I have never seen a wheel chair person pushing themselves along the public highway. Besides, how often do you see a wheel chair user get up and walk into a shop? Practically all mobility scooter users can walk fine for short distances at least, and at least half of the people I see in them are smoking fat old women who are not disabled at all, just too fat or full of lung cancer to walk far. I can't feel sorry for them, and they are usually the ones who are rude and have no consideration for others on the pavement. I'm not making this up, this is what I've seen time and again.

Can I apply for the driving license theory test before getting a provisional one (England)?

... I'm waiting for my provisional license now and wondered if I can do the theory test while I'm waiting...

Answer (by ▐▀▀☟▀▀▌ ☞βḭŁŁ☜ ▐▄▄☝▄▄▌):

For those wanting to test their psychic abilities: Where have I put my birth certificate/driving licence?

I needed it in March last year and spent ages trying to find it. I promised that I would keep it safe after that... and now I can't find it. And I really need it. I've got it in the envelope the paper part of my licence came in (I've got the plastic bit in my purse) - does anyone know what colour that is? (Brown or white?) And does anyone have any idea where I've put it? :P

Answer (by ITS LIFE JIM):
Yes i know where they are......................they are with all the other things you can't find.

I can drive, should I have the UK Drive Licence test without practice sessions?

Hello I'm from southamerica and I have a valid Drive License there since 2003, I consider myself a good driver. (we drive on the left side) I have been in the UK for around 2.5 years and I can't change my license to the UK Drive licence because I'm not from EU. I have a temporal licence here, and I bought the official text guide and stuff to take the tests. However, I would not be able to practice a bit (with a real car) before my practice test as I don't want to pay £200 - £300 for the practice lessons I consider don't need to. I will be fine just with a couple of hours driving on the right side of the car to feel more confident. I can't rent a car because I have not licence here, so what other options do I have ? Can I just pay 2 hours of an instructor to practice? Should just sit the test ? (Last time I drive was one year ago in my country) Thanks for the advices

If I have an overseas driving license, do I still need to take the test to get a british driving license ?

I just moved to england and I was wondering if I need to take any tests or exams to get a british driving license ? knowing that I've had my overseas driving license for almost 5 years without a single scratch...if so, how long will it take for me to get the license (approximately) ? appreciate the help !

Answer (by ANDY):
Hello If you have a Full licence and are from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain or Sweden. You can exchange your foreign licence for a Full U.K one. Check below for link to more information. You can drive on your Foreign licence for up to a year but the year restarts every time you leave the U.K as long as it is less than a year between the date you entered and the date you le3eve the U.K. However with a Foreign licence you will find it harder to get insurance here so may have to arrange insurance from the country you come from. if id had my licence 3 months and get caught drink driving,do i have to resit my driving test?

drink driving

Answer (by Will):
You will be banned for driving for a minimum of one year, after that you will need to re-apply for another provisional licence and start again from scratch. If you read the documents that came with your licence, it tells you that if you gain more than 6 points in the first two years you will have to resit all of your driving tests again, plus you will have a hell of a job getting any company to insure you.

i passed my driving test 3 weeks ago and the examiner sent off my provisional for the full licence.?

and 2 weeks ago i receive my card with the D1 form do i have to fill that in to get my paper counterpart and should i have received it with my photocard?

Answer (by Bardic):
Something a little askew here. If the examiner is to deal with it for you he/she will take your old licence off you, scan the details and send them electronically to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). You will then be given a pass certificate to prove you passed your test. DVLA will then send you your new full licence by post within four weeks of you passing your practical test. You need do nothing more. If you pass your test but do not want to use this automatic service, or have a licence issued before 1 March 2004, you will be given a pass certificate by the examiner. On the back of the pass certificate it tells you what you need to do next. This involves sending your licence and appropriate fee to DVLA who will then check your application and issue you with a new full licence. I'd suggest you ring DVLA. By the by, if you go to send anything off to DVLA always keep a copy for yourself - it's amazing how much goes missing en route.
