I have my driving theory test this afternoon - but my provisional licence is snapped in half?!?

I am taking my theory test in a couple of hours, and was just wondering if they are still gonna let me sit the test even though my provisional license card is snapped in half? It happened accidentally as I use that card as my I D when I go out. Are they gonna kick up a fuss? Is it still valid? The crack isn't on my picture and you can clearly read all the info on the card. Any help will be great. Thanks

can you drive a 125cc on full licence without taking CBT test?

Hubby has a 125cc Moped, held a full driving licence since 1987, does he need to take a CBT Test or not before legally going on the road? thanks for that, one of you is saying he can drive the moped without L plates and one is say he needs L plates....

Answer (by <----->):
Your husband has a full moped licence, this means he can ride a moped (50cc) as a full licence holder... so no L plates and he can carry passengers. Anyone who passed their car test before 1 February 2001 automatically has this right and doesn't need to do a CBT. People who passed their car test on or after 1 February 2001 need to do a one off CBT validate their full moped entitlement. To ride any motorcycle/scooter with an engine size between 51cc - 125cc, your husband will need a CBT. He will also need to display L plates, he cannot carry passengers or ride on motorways. A CBT is valid for two years so he would either need to take his motorcycle test (theory & practical) before his CBT expires, or take another CBT and continue riding as a learner for a further two years. A car licence makes no difference when it comes to riding 125cc bikes, it's the same as having a provisional.

if i can drive in uk on eu licence after being ordered a extended test?

i have been disqualified & ordered to take an extended test,if i pass my test in a eu country can i just swap my licence for a uk one without having to take the extended test

Answer (by andy w):
To take a test in another country you have to be a resident in that country. So if you want to go and live somewhere for 6 months to a year then go for it. However, once you try and swap the license from that country to a UK one then they will be able to trace back to your having been disqualified and you will be in deep doo doo.

Can i use the "new" style provisonal paper license and my passport for my driving theory test?

pretty much the title i have left my Photocard at my uncles (other side of the uk) and i wont be able to use it tomorrow for my driving theory test. could i use my passport instead?

Answer (by TJW):
I'm afraid you need your Photo Drivers licence and the counter part when you register for your test. you will also need to take your appointment confirmation letter. Without these your test is unlikely to take place and you will forfeit the fee Sorry.

Once I pass my driving test, what do I do with my provisional licence? Can I just rid it?

Or do I have to keep it? Also, will the photos be the same on both? Long story.

Just passed my driving test 2 days ago, how do I get my licence?

Like the title says, I passed my test two days ago and now am looking into getting my licence. Only problem is, I have no idea how I do this - is it sent out to me automatically or do I have to send away for it? If so, what do I send away and to whom? :S My bad if this is a question with a ridiculously simple answer haha!

Answer (by Pickle):
If you are in the UK they would have asked you if you want them to send it to you. If you said yes then they would have taken your old licence from you and given you a copy of your pass certificate. If you still have your provisional licence then you need to get a driving licence application form (the same as you filled in for your provisional) from the post office and send it along with your pass certificate and both parts of your old licence to the DVLA who will send you your new licence. You have up to two years to send off for it. If you haven't by then, it will expire and you will have to re-take your driving test.

Does the US test (for new license) include an independent driving section?

independent driving means the trooper/examiner will leave applicant alone in the car while he/she drives around. here in the UK we will soon have that. http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/04062010/36/driving-test-revamped-0.html

Answer (by gomanyes):
No, there is no such thing anywhere in the US as far as I know.

I have just passed my driving test (car) and would like to get a motorcycle licence...?

Do I have to take a theory test before my CBT if I've already done one for my driving licence? Also what happens after the CBT if I want to have a full motorcycle licence? Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

Answer (by pete h):
Not sure about the theory test, there may well be a diferent one for bikes, but after CBT you will need to do a road test, where you are followed by an examiner. Your CBT should prepare you well for this. Unlikely that you will escape having to pay for the 2 parts, but it is worth it !
